| | Parent InformationParent Information Children,
teachers and parents are all an important part of the team that ensures
that students become successful readers. Here are some tips to use
with your children at home.
*Show your interest in reading by reading in front of your children and encouraging them to read also.
*Spend at least 10-20 minutes each day reading together. This establishes reading as a
habit and shows your child the importance you place on developing
reading skills.
*Find a place that is quiet, private and comfortable so that you can enjoy reading together without being distracted.
*Everyone likes praise, so give it often! Even if your child's reading is not exactly correct, give credit for the effort.
*
Keep track of your child's progress in school, and visit Bonfield
whenever possible. This will keep you informed and let your child know
that school is important to you.
