I began my teaching career as a Kindergarten Teacher in Montoursville, PA where I taught for two years at Loyalsock Valley Elementary School. After getting married and moving to Lancaster, I was able to serve as a day-to-day substitute in several area school districts, and also as a long-term substitute in First Grade at John Beck. I obtained my full-time teaching position at John Beck Elementary in 1998 and have been teaching first grade ever since!
My goal is to provide a positive, solid foundation of both academic and social skills for my students. I love first grade because it is such a time of amazing growth! I always begin each school year ready to provide necessary guidance and strong assistance for my classroom of young learners. The end of each school year brings the huge reward of having students who have made many individual gains and transformed into more independent readers, writers, and mathematicians!
