Andrea has worked in education for over 20 years, spending all of that time at the elementary level. Initially, she worked as a special education teacher instructing students with social and behavioral needs. Following this, she began working as an elementary school counselor, a role that she continues to this day. Andrea has found her niche in this role, getting the opportunity to build relationships with students and families throughout the school community.
As a school counselor, Andrea enjoys supporting students so that they can reach their potential both academically and social-emotionally. Further, she finds joy in planting the seeds of future opportunities as she assists students in connecting their strengths and passions to possible future careers.
Andrea enjoys spending her free time with her husband, their two children and the the family dog, Burton. The Shertzers often frequent the mountains of northern Pennsylvania and love supporting the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Flyers!
