Dear Parent or Guardian,
Hello!My name is Erica Breckenmaker and I am pleased to introduce myself as your child’s sixth grade teacher.I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my class.I have completed twenty years at John Beck Elementary and I look forward to my twenty-first year in August.My previous experience before John Beck includes working as an assistant teacher in an eighth grade learning support classroom at the Warwick Middle School and working as an assistant teacher at Fulton Elementary in Lancaster City for primary students.I also substituted in many classrooms in the surrounding area.Along with teaching, I held the position of Assistant Varsity coach and Junior Varsity coach for the Warwick Field Hockey team for six years. Although I love coaching, I have decided to let coaching go to put more attention and time toward my teaching and family.
I am hoping you have already received the 6th grade school supply list from your child’s Step Up day.If you have not, I included it again on the back of this letter.(If these items are a hardship for your family, please let the John Beck office know 717-626-3702).These materials will help your student to be organized and prepared for all of his/her classes.It is also very important that your child bring his or her positivity and enthusiasm to learn!
I have enclosed a survey (Parental Perspective) to learn more about your child through your eyes.The more I know, the better I can tailor an educational and motivational program to fit his or her particular needs.I know it takes some time to fill this survey out, but please know that I take time to read it and use it to better know your child as an individual.Please send the survey along with your child during the first week of school.I want to help your child succeed and enjoy his or her learning experience in every way I can, so feel free to contact me about any questions you may have.My classroom door is always open!
