Dear Parents,In order to guarantee your child and all the children in our classroom the excellent learning climate they deserve, we are utilizing the following behavior plan. As you know, good behavior and learning go hand in hand. Simple class rules have been established to ensure your child has a positive and safe learning environment.
I believe that even at the age of six, children need to learn the importance of accepting responsibility for their actions. All children are expected to follow classroom rules and procedures, and I will help them learn to do so in a positive, fair, and equitable manner. Good discipline allows me to teach, and students to learn. This is the right of every student.
Our school uses the following expectations – We are respectful, responsible and ready. The following list are the ways we will talk about the school expectations in our classroom.
We are Responsible:
· We walk at all times.
· We use tools properly.
· We stay in our own space.
· We follow directions the first time.
· We always do our best work.
We are Respectful:
· We share and take turns.
· We raise our hands to speak.
· We use good manners.
· We are kind to everyone.
We are Ready:
· We have our tools ready to go.
· We listen attentively.
As the above expectations are discussed , we use the list below as “rules” in our room.
1. Listen attentively to the speaker.
2. Follow directions quickly..
3. Raise your hand to speak and leave your seat.
4. Make Smart Choices
Here are some smart choices we will discuss

DO YOUR BEST WORK.
I look forward to establishing the best possible learning environment for your child. With teamwork and cooperation among parents, teachers, and students, we will have a terrific year! MAKING GOOD CHOICES IS NOT ONLY IMPORTANT IN FIRST GRADE BUT ALSO THROUGHTOUT LIFE. AND, AS ALWAYS, EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY TO GO FOR A GOOD DAY!
