It was a special day for Mrs. Yoder’s Life Skills class as they opened their new location of their “Special Blend Coffee Shop.”
Mrs. Yoder has always run a classroom business to teach students about numerous life skills. For the last few years, it was a baking business. This year she decided to venture into something different — the students started a coffee shop from the classroom. This venture took off so fast and orders were coming in quickly. It only made sense to open up the coffee shop in a new dedicated space. The morning of Friday, January 11th, 2019 was the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new shop.
The students absolutely love running the business and serving everyone who stops by for coffee. Orders can be placed by the staff a week in advance, there are even tables for customers to sit back and relax while they drink their cup of coffee. Mrs. Yoder’s students make anything from hot coffee to hot chocolate and even cold brew. The shop features a toppings bar as well, with marshmallows, peppermint and chocolate chips.
Congratulations to the students in Mrs. Yoder’s class! Best of luck with the business!
