Warwick High School Presents ‘Hello, Dolly’ Spring Musical

The Warwick High School Music Department presents “Hello, Dolly” for this year’s spring musical.  Performances are on Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th at 7:30 p.m. as well as Sunday, March 17th at 2 p.m. in the Warwick High School Performing Arts Center.

Set in Yonkers, New York, "Hello, Dolly" is a blockbuster Broadway hit filled with humor and romance.  The story follows Dolly Gallagher-Levi (Amelia Fair), a turn-of-the-century matchmaker. People turn to her for advice on romance, practical matters and just about everything else. Dolly is happy to oblige. The miserly half-a-millionaire of the town, Horace Vandergelder (Liam Blevins), is a widowed hay and feed dealer who is seeking a second wife.  He hires Dolly to assist him in finding a suitable match.  Although Dolly arranges for Horace to meet a young widow, Irene Molloy (Lauren Epps), Dolly has her own interest in Horace.

Other notable characters are Horace’s clerks, Barnaby Tucker (Noah Johnson) and Cornelius Hackl (Caleb Goss), they decide to take an unauthorized trip to New York City themselves vowing to find adventure in the big apple.  Additional members of the cast include Minnie Fay (Elise White), Ambrose Kemper (Taylor Madison), Ermengarde (Maddie Grisbacher), Ernestina (Stella Newman), Mrs. Rose (Katie Bender), Rudolph (Andrew McCracken), and Stanley (Matt Soslow).

This musical is filled with charisma and heart and features memorable songs like "It Only Takes a Moment" and "Put on Your Sunday Clothes."

“We chose ‘Hello, Dolly’ because we were looking for a show that was a good fit for the students we currently have in the department,” stated Mrs. Deb Kline-Smith, Producer and Director of Vocals for the show.  “We were also looking for a show that was entertaining, fun-loving and had good, quality, memorable tunes that the audience would leave humming.”

Drama Director of the show is Jill Gagliano, with choreography by Travis Love.
