Dear Parents and Students,
I am very excited to offer your child the opportunity to audition for the John Beck Elementary School Music Club. Auditions will take place on Thursday, September 24th from 2:30 to 3:30pm. The ensemble is a select group that will meet on most Thursdays from 2:30-3:30.
The ensemble will meet September through the end of January.
If your child is chosen for the group, he/she will learn how to play music on the Orff (xylophones) instruments. The students will perform at the Winter Program.
Because of past issues, especially with student pick up, I need to implement the following policies regarding attendance. Students must attend the majority of rehearsals and performances, and must also have transportation home after rehearsals. Student pick up will be at the back entrance of the school at 3:30. Please make note. Two unexcused absences will result in a dismissal from the program. If you are late picking your child up three times they may also be dropped from the program. If you are stuck in traffic or have an emergency, it will of course be excused. If this should happen, please call the office 717-626-3702 or my cell 717-682-4243 to let me know that you are going to be late.
Please complete the attached audition form and return it to school by Thursday, September 24th. Students will not be able to stay after school to audition without a signed permission slip.
If your child is selected for the group, our first rehearsal will take place on Thursday, October 1st.
