The fifth and sixth grade students at John R. Bonfield Elementary will be performing "The Adventures of Tommie Sawyer" at the the Warwick Middle School on March 9th and 10th. Performances are at 6:30 p.m. both evenings and free to the public.
This mini-musical, which is loosely based on Mark Twain’s “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” is set in a small town in Mississippi in the 1840’s and has many catchy and recognizable tunes. An Old Tommie (Yanki Kirci) recounts stories from his youth along with favorite characters such as Aunt Polly (Jeweleona Hilton), Huck Finn (Reece Crank), Becky Thatcher (Lilly Rivera) and most importantly, that mischievous boy, Young Tommie (Tristan Clouse, Grayson Rothermel and Ross Weise). Presented in a vignette style, the audience will enjoy hearing three stories of how Tommie weaseled his way out of painting a fence, managed to close down the school, and discovered pirate treasure.
