Yesterday, on November 13th, we held our annual Middle School Spelling Bee.
This year’s Spelling Bee was composed of 28 students, 12 from the Middle School and 16 sixth graders from across all four elementary buildings. The Spelling Bee judges were Mrs. Bernstein (John Beck), Mrs. Cupo-Fisher (John R. Bonfield), Mrs. Colino (Kissel Hill), and Mr. Eakin (Lititz Elementary). The competition Coordinator was Mrs. Moschini (Middle School) and the Pronouncer was Mr. Joe Lacombe (Middle School).
The 16 elementary students who participated earned their way into the Spelling Bee by being one of the top four finalists at their buildings’ Spelling Bee.

Noah Kneisley (MS), Lindsey Brown (MS), Porter Strayer (LE), Audrey Best (JB), Braedon Knippenberg (JRB), Kyle Steinman (KH), Percy Czyzewski (MS), Alaina DePaul (MS), Chase Kenn (LE), Tayrn Lehman (JB), Olver Carsten (JRB), Joel Bowen (KH), Ryder Troxell (MS), Khang Nguyen (MS), Lily Zdancewic (LE), Elliot Tillman (JB), Tenzin Hoffman (JRB), Jack Maza (KH), Evan Rossi (MS), Asher Verrelli (MS), Dmitriy Freydlin (LE), Zara Wiker (JB), Riya Patil (JRB), Meredith Resnick (KH), Tristan Clouse (MS), Makenna Stoner (MS), Margot Kimmel (MS), and Andy Roberts (MS).
After 11 rounds, Oliver Carsten (John Bonfield) was crowned the winner after spelling the word ‘gullet’ correctly.
Congratulations to Oliver as well as the two other finalists, Alaina DePaul (Middle School), and Tenzin Hoffman (John Bonfield).
Next up for these spectacular spellers; the Semi-final written test which will take place on January 16th - 20th at WITF Public Media Center.
