High School Students Earn Prestigious Music Honors

We are pleased to recognize the outstanding musical achievements of several high school students who have earned placements in prestigious Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) festivals.

Jacob Soslow, a senior percussionist, has qualified for the 2025 PMEA Region V Band Festival. The festival will take place March 6-8 at East Stroudsburg South High School, concluding with a concert on Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m. The ensemble will perform under the direction of Dr. Travis Weller, composer and professor at Messiah University.

Callan Gagliardi, a junior guitarist, has earned a seat in the 2025 PMEA District 7 Jazz Band Festival, which will be held March 14-15 at Dallastown Area High School. The festival will culminate in a concert on Saturday, March 15, at 2:30 p.m. Guest conductors for the event include Alyssa Allgood, Chris Watts, and Marko Marcinko.

Additionally, five students have been selected for the Region V Chorus Festival, which will take place March 20-21 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The festival will conclude with a concert on Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m., conducted by Dr. Bryan E. Nichols from Pennsylvania State University. This ensemble is composed of students from District 7 and District 10. Those who rank in the top six of their voice part will advance to the All-State Choir.

The following students will represent the district at the Region V Chorus Festival:

  • Andrew Jackson (Senior, Tenor 2)

  • Luciana Martinez (Senior, Soprano 2)

  • Jacob Soslow (Senior, Bass 1)

  • Gannon Ziegler (Senior, Tenor 1)
