Students Compete in Regional PA Media and Design Competition

Yesterday, a group of talented middle and high school students showcased their skills at the Regional Pennsylvania Media and Design Competition (MadCom), held at the Lancaster/Lebanon IU13.

MadCom is an annual event that highlights Pennsylvania students’ creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. Participants compete in six categories: 3D Design, Web Page Design, Programming, Digital Movie, Animation, and Graphic & Logo Design. In addition to presenting their projects, students had the opportunity to collaborate with peers and advisors, share ideas, and gain valuable feedback before the awards ceremony.

"Each year, the PA Media and Design Competition reaffirms why I’m so passionate about serving as an advisor. It’s more than just a contest: it’s a platform where students shine creatively, take risks, and transform their ideas into something remarkable. Watching our students grow through this experience is always a highlight of my year. I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and innovation our students poured into their projects and grateful to work alongside dedicated educators like Mr. Wile and Ms. Rakiewicz, who help nurture that spark in their classrooms. This competition continues to be a celebration of student voice and creativity, and I’m so excited to see where it takes them next." - Jonathan Olshan, Technology and Integration Coach.

Several students placed in their respective categories, and first-place winners will advance to the State Competition in May at Elizabethtown College. We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated and look forward to seeing how our qualifiers perform at the next level.
